10oz Jar of Raw Black Locust Honey
10oz Jar of Raw Black Locust Honey
Another delicious honey from Trevor’s hives at Lloyd Street Bees! This honey comes from hives near a large collection of black locust trees (Robinia pseudoacacia). In Europe this honey is known as “Acacia” honey. It’s prized for its light color and resistance to crystallization.
Trevor focuses mostly on northern-hardy, mite resistant queen breeding and nuc production, but he still ends up with honey and is loath to sell it himself. That’s where I come in! Each jar sold helps him further his work making my favorite queens. Check him out if you need some quality stock: http://lloydstbees.com
Bike a Bee honey is never heated or micro-filtered. It’s bottled by hand with loving care. Nothing is added and nothing is taken away. Your honey may arrive crystallized or hard. This is normal for unfiltered honey! You can gently re-liquify it by putting the jar in hot water or on a warm surface. Be careful though, heating honey past 110°F can destroy the flavor, enzymes and pre-biotic qualities of your honey.
